2018 Judges:


Paul Kokesh 
Paul is a graduate of SPC’s Music Industry Recording Arts Program, focusing on songwriting and its incorporation with contemporary music production and performance. He has been awarded as a finalist in several national songwriting competitions, including the USA Songwriting Competition, and received first place in SPC competitions for original song and production. Paul is currently starting up his own songwriting and publishing company and operates a consulting business, which has included clients for a NYC-based fashion and media brand. His recommendation to the contestants - “Avoid trying to be like someone else. The message you deliver is personal, and that’s when it has the greatest effect on the audience.”
   

Nancy Feagans Smith, (Founder/Director, Choreographer) \has been teaching at SPC since 1983 and has been Co-Director of CoMotion Dance Theatre since 1986 and the SPC Dance repertory since 1985.  Nancy has choreographed extensively, showing her works with SPC, Eckerd College, Moving Current and Eight O’Clock Theatre. Her professional teaching credits include SPC, the Artist in Education Program of the Pinellas County Arts Council, and Eckerd College.  She currently serves as the Academic Chair for the department of Humanities and Fine Arts on the St. Pete/Gibbs campus.
   
Gabe Whitney started Noisemakers music school in 2008.  He has been working as a teacher and band leader for the past 10 years, helping kids and adults learn how to play their favorite instruments.  He is also the Band and Choir Director for the Admiral Farragut Academy's upper school, and the music teacher for their lower school, pre-k through 8th grade.  In addition, Whitney is currently the Vice President for Operation Coexist, a non-profit organization that helps foster children gain access to free instruments and music education.
